A few weeks ago on Raw, it was announced that Drew McIntyre would be defending his WWE Championship against his former tag-team partner and stablemate, Dolph Ziggler at Extreme Rules.
In a promo on Raw, Drew McIntyre said that he is so confident that he is going to defeat Dolph Ziggler at the upcoming pay-per-view that he is going to let the former World Heavyweight Champion pick the stipulation for their match.
On Raw this week, Dolph Ziggler said that he isn’t going to reveal the stipulation until the pay-per-view, so it looks like we are going to have to wait a few more weeks before we find out what type of match we’ll be seeing.
Since then, Ziggler appeared on The Bump and while he didn’t reveal exactly what his stipulation is, he said that it’s something that we have never seen before in WWE:
“Just know, if I can get this through and cleared by WWE, it will be something never been done before and I will be taking full advantage because it’s something..I would be stupid to pick a normal match that we’ve seen before.”
We are already seeing a rather unique stipulation match at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules when Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio go one-on-one in an eye-for-an-eye match. The winner of the match just somehow take out their opponent’s eye.
In case you needed reminding, the following matches have been announced for The Horror Show at Extreme Rules:
- Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler – WWE Championship
- Asuka (c) vs. Sasha Banks – Raw Women’s Championship
- Braun Strowman (c) vs. Bray Wyatt – Wyatt Swamp Fight
- Apollo Crews (c) vs. MVP – United States Championship
- Bayley (c) vs. Nikki Cross – SmackDown Women’s Championship
- Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins – Eye for an Eye match
