Brand switches in the 2020 edition of the WWE Draft have led to championships changing hands in rather interesting fashion.
The Raw Tag Team Championship and the SmackDown Tag Team Championship have been switched between their respective champions.
On night one of the draft this past Friday on SmackDown, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods won the SmackDown Tag Title but were then drafted to Raw.
Tonight on Raw, the red brand’s Tag Team Champions the Street Profits were drafted to SmackDown.
There followed a backstage segment with authority figure Adam Pearce, who simply had both teams swap the titles over. This means Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods are Raw Tag Team Champions and the Street Profits are SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
It hasn’t exactly been confirmed by WWE, and it probably never will be, but logic dictates these are completely new title reigns and the previous reigns have now ended.
