Former WWE star Heath Slater has revealed that the company actually pitched some other plans to him for his recent return in July.
Slater, who now only uses his first name Heath for IMPACT, spoke with PWInsider Elite, and actually revealed that WWE wanted him to work the Extreme Rules pay-per-view too.
He said:
“It was a whole stint of me and Drew do what you saw on Raw, then the following week I go and work Dolph on Raw, then I have to do something at some pay-per-view, the Horror Show pay-per-view. So I got down there and they brought that up to me, and I said ‘nah, this is a one and done’.”
Heath Slater was released by WWE this past April as part of the company’s cost-cutting measures brought on by COVID-19 having been with the company since 2006 (including developmental).
His one-off return was a match against former 3MB teammate WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, who beat him but then saved him from a Dolph Ziggler ambush.
He’s on the card for the October 24 IMPACT Bound For Glory pay-per-view in the ‘Call Your Shot’ gauntlet match where the winner gets a title shot of their choosing.
