AEW referee, project coordinator and podcast host Aubrey Edwards signed a contract extension with the promotion this year.
She revealed the news during Into The Danger Zone with Chris Denker, saying:
“Unless you’re in the discussion about the match, you don’t fully understand all of the things that are being talked about, right? And ultimately if the wrestlers I work with are happy and my bosses are happy, and you know, I got a contract extension this year so clearly I’m doing something good. Let me just drop that in there (laughs).”
Edwards is arguably AEW’s most popular referee, and is the chosen ref for the majority of Chris Jericho’s big matches in particular.
On top of her officiating duties, she also co-hosts the Unrestricted podcast with Tony Schiavone, and is the main person behind the Elite General Manager mobile game.
