Former WWE star John Morrison has criticised previous WWE management team for a ‘litany of poor decision making’.
Morrison was released from his WWE contract in November, two weeks after his wife, Taya Valkyrie (Franky Monet) was let go.
Speaking with Steve Fall for NBC Sports Boston, Morrison noted that he lost interest in wrestling for WWE after Valkyrie was released, noting:
“The thing about it is, after Taya was gone, I didn’t want to be there anymore. When I heard I was going to be released, I went through the 8 steps of grief, 10, however many, in the like 30 seconds. From surprise to shock to regret to ‘ok.’”
Revealing his true opinion of the former Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis, Morrison said:
“They didn’t even say ‘best of luck in your future endeavors.’ I thought that he said that to people. I didn’t get that out of (John) Laurinaitis. I wonder if someone said that to him (laughs). I didn’t love him or hate him. I thought he had a very tough job. I didn’t realize what he was doing behind the scenes. In retrospect, that’s pretty messed up. He has to deal with that and he created his own problems.”

Laurinaitis went on administrative leave in June, following ‘hush pact’ allegations surrounding him and Vince McMahon emerging. McMahon announced his retirement in July, and Laurinaitis was officially terminated in early August.
Indicating that he has a lot of thoughts about the previous management team, Morrison noted:
“I could talk about .. this subject, for hours, the litany of poor decision making. I think that’s what most wrestling fans do, and what the wrestlers do. When you’re actually behind the wheel and you’re making those decisions, it’s not that you’re making a decision in hindsight like we are now.”
Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan are the current co-CEOs of WWE. Triple H runs creative in addition to his duties as Head of Talent Relations.
