Lacey Evans is set to return to the ring on the September 9 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Evans hasn’t wrestled on WWE TV since the July 2 Money in the Bank ladder match. The star was notably pulled from the July 29 edition of SmackDown, with reports noting that she had been ‘medically sidelined’.
On this week’s show, Evans will face off against Xia Li, Natalya, Ronda Rousey and Sonya Deville in a five-way SmackDown Women’s Championship #1 contenders match. The winner will challenge for the title at Extreme Rules in October.
The current champion, Liv Morgan, most recently defended her gold against Shayna Baszler at Clash At The Castle.
An eight man tag-team match was also announced for the show, with the Street Profits to team with Hit Row to face off against Maximum Male Models & Los Lotharios.
As previously announced, Braun Strowman and The Bloodline faction are scheduled to appear on the show. Strowman notably returned to WWE on Monday’s episode of Raw.
The Bloodline gained a new member at Clash At The Castle, when The Usos’ brother Solo Sikoa interfered in the Undisputed WWE Universal Title bout to help Roman Reigns.
Here’s the announced card for the show:
- The Bloodline to appear
- Braun Strowman SmackDown return
- Xia Li vs. Natalya vs. Ronda Rousey vs. Lacey Evans vs. Sonya Deville – SmackDown Women’s Title #1 Contender’s Match
- The Street Profits & Hit Row vs. Maximum Male Models & Los Lotharios
