A former WWE star has commented on their in-ring return.
Alex Riley worked in WWE for several years and was prominently featured as The Miz’s protege during his first WWE Championship run. He also worked as a commentator for the NXT brand before returning to wrestle on the program until he was released in May 2016.
The former WWE star recently made his return to the squared circle at the Holiday Toy Drive 2022 on December 8.
Riley teamed with NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Tyrus to face VBU’s Jack Tomlinson and Dante Drago at the event.
Speaking on the Tyrus and Timpf Podcast, the former NXT star discussed his return to the ring and admitted that he was grateful for the opportunity. Alex said:
“I clearly had some rust on me and wanted to be in a little bit better shape. But I was really grateful to be out there, man.”
“I was really grateful to be in front of people, and god bless you for walking out there with me. It was cool.”
