On Monday 23 January, WWE celebrated thirty years of its flagship program WWE Raw and a top AEW saw a star-making performance.
Matt Hardy, himself formerly of WWE, was speaking about the show on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy and said:
“I did, I got to watch about a third of the show. I watched the trial of Sami Zayn, and I watched the tag match, and I watched the Bray Wyatt/Undertaker segment.
“I thought it was all excellent. I thought it was really good.”
He would then go on to single out a particular WWE superstar for whom he had a lot of praise, stating:
“The trial of Sami Zayn was so well done, and it really was. That was a star-making performance that night for Sami Zayn.
“He’s already a star, he’s already over as it is, but it was the icing on top.”
The Trial of Sami Zayn was a replacement for the advertised Acknowledgement Ceremony for Roman Reigns.
In the segment, Roman Reigns would hear evidence of the crimes of Sami Zayn as presented by the Tribal Chief’s Special Counsel, Paul Heyman.
The segment was shared on the BT Sport YouTube channel and can be seen, in full, below.
