Rey Mysterio was in action on last night’s episode of SmackDown, and while he came up short in earning his shot at the Intercontinental Championship, he shared a respectful moment backstage after the show.
Rey was a part of the four-way main event with Madcap Moss, Karrion Kross and Santos Escobar, which saw Rey and Escobar lock up in WWE for the first time.
Madcap Moss ended up scoring the victory in the match, with him set to face off with Gunther for the title last week.
In a WWE exclusive video following the show, Rey and Escobar sat down in the locker room, where Santos told a story of his dad taking him to watch Rey wrestle.
Santos then handed Rey a mask, before telling him that he still wants to have his legacy.
Rey then handed one of his masks to Santos, before the two men shared a handshake.
Legado Del Fantasma have been presented as heels since their WWE debut, but this segment sure seemed to be teasing a potential face turn for Escobar.
