Ahead of AEW Dynamite in Laredo, Texas there was a warning given to the locker room according to one report.
According to a report from Fightful Select, while AEW talent stayed very close to the border they were told to stay away from it due to “safety reasons.”
In general it is best to “stay safe,” when travelling however the AEW front office is not ill advised to issue a warning to talent and staff regarding local concerns.
Laredo, Texas is just across the border from Nuevo Laredo in Mexico, an area that has been known in the recent past for violent unrest between cartels and soldiers.
Another known concern for those crossing that particular border: extortion.
Crossing the border from Laredo into Nuevo Laredo is known to result in travelers being pulled over by alleged members of the cartel that will charge travelers a fee to safely pass.
AEW continued their Texas takeover from Laredo, Texas after previously holding AEW Dynamite in El Paso the previous week.
Continuing their takeover West, AEW next rolls into Phoenix, Arizona for AEW Dynamite and Rampage tapings set to occur on February 22, 2023.
