There was plenty of NXT influence at this week’s episode of SmackDown in Orlando, Florida.
Several top NXT stars appeared on the show, including NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton.
Also on the show were NXT’s Tony D’Angelo and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo, who were shown backstage in a segment with Jey Uso on the show.
Backstage during the show, Stacks and Tony D bumped into Elton Prince and Kit Wilson of Pretty Deadly, who were on SmackDown to cost Butch his NXT North American Championship match against Dominik Mysterio.
The encounter between the two teams was incredibly awkward, with Stacks and Tony ‘taking care’ of Pretty Deadly during their last match on NXT prior to their call-up to the main roster.
Stacks and Tony are set to challenge Gallus for the NXT Tag Team Championship at NXT Great American Bash on July 31 after Tony D was freed from prison.
Pretty Deadly’s Elton Prince suffered a separated shoulder in his match with the Brawling Brutes on last week’s episode of SmackDown.
