On tonight’s edition of WWE NXT (July 25) there was a seriously hilarious (and violent!) call back to a legendary WWE moment, this time for the ladies!
Sometimes when a feud is this serious, the only way it can be settled is through a brutal battle with weapons and/or whatever can be grabbed on the aisles of the closest mini-mart.
Paying homage to the classic grocery store battle between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Booker T, Roxanne Perez and Blair Davenport went to war inside what appeared to be a gas station on tonight’s NXT.
Notably looking to Booker T as her mentor, Roxanne Perez is not a shocking candidate to resurrect a grocery aisle war, as she looks to settle her long simmering feud with the dastardly Blair Davenport.
Davenport has previously mocked Perez’s anxiety as well as revealed herself to be the mystery assailant behind the ‘attacks’ of multiple NXT women’s division stars (by which several actually injured stars were able to be written off of TV), making their rivalry quite personal.
While the footprint of the store may have been smaller, the carnage was no less impactful as carts, food, chairs, freezers and everything in between were utilized as weaponry.
The bodega battle served as just the preamble to what lies ahead at this Sunday’s NXT Great American Bash premium live event.
After the vignette aired, it was confirmed that not only would Roxanne Perez face off against Blair Davenport at that event, the match would be a “Weapons Wild” match.
After the show, Perez seemed to acknowledge the homage by Tweeting: “Give me a hell yeah”
