Orange Cassidy kicked off tonight’s AEW Dynamite with an International Championship match and perhaps igniting a new feud.
After a big opening match on tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite (July 26) Orange Cassidy had a title bout and it seemed that two potential feuds could arise from a post-match angle.
In AEW Dynamite’s opening match, Orange Cassidy has defended his International Championship yet again, this time against AR Fox.
With a vignette ahead of the match where Darby Allin explained what AR Fox had done for him in the past (including offering him a free place to stay when finding out he was experiencing homelessness) it seemed that it could be the challenger’s night.
Despite commentary putting Fox over throughout the match, in the end it was still Orange Cassidy who retained the International Championship.
After the match when the pair united and Cassidy put his sunglasses on Fox, the veteran posed for a thumbs up… before turning on Orange Cassidy and attacking him as the champ got back to his feet.
Darby Allin was shown chastising Fox for the outburst afterwards however then a wild Jon Moxley appeared.
Taking out Orange Cassidy, which commentary referenced was a receipt for Orange Cassidy hitting Claudio Castagnoli with the Orange Punch on Friday at ROH Death Before Dishonor, Moxley disappeared as fast as he arrived.
Later tonight, Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli will team to take on the Lucha Bros and Best Friends in Dynamite’s main event.
