The planned opening match for tomorrow night’s WWE SummerSlam 2023 premium live event has now been revealed.
During his recent Impaulsive podcast with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Logan Paul spoke about wanting to open the show with his match against Ricochet.
Logan explained how he was hoping to walk his brother Jake Paul to the ring for his fight against Nate Diaz in Dallas later that night, which would only be possible if Logan and Ricochet opened up SummerSlam.
In an update from PWInsider, the match between Ricochet and Paul is indeed planned to open up SummerSlam tomorrow night.
WWE has been advertising four main event matches for the show, with Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso likely set to close the night.
Paul Heyman will give a ‘history of Tribal Combat’ on tonight’s SmackDown ahead of the main event.
There has been a lot of controversy surrounding WWE’s decision to remove the planned Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus match from the show.
There has been an update on the potential of Randy Orton making a surprise return to WWE on tomorrow night’s show, which you can see here.
