WWE commentator Corey Graves may now officially be a part of the SmackDown announce team, but that hasn’t stopped him from singling out one rising talent on the red brand that he feels could become a breakout star.
Speaking on WWE’s After The Bell podcast, Graves highlighted Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser as someone he feels could step up to another level in the future, despite currently taking a backseat to the Ring General GUNTHER.
Graves called Kaiser a “full-blown movie villain” and explained why and when he feels the German could ascend to the top of the card in WWE, saying:
“Ludwig Kaiser has been a piece of the Imperium machine.
“He has been the perfect set dressing on the main event that is GUNTHER. But after seeing what I saw on Monday, I’m gonna make a bold prediction right here, right now: Ludwig Kaiser, sooner rather than later, should be a main event player in WWE.
“I’m not expecting it to happen overnight. I’m not expecting him to be the one to knock off GUNTHER or anything of the sort, but he was so captivating, entertaining, eloquent, and all these other adjectives.
“But watching him interact with Maxxine, Ludwig Kaiser felt like a full-blown movie villain.”
While Kaiser was predominantly featured as a manager to GUNTHER or alongside his tag partner Giovanni Vinci during his first year on the main roster, he has recently been allowed to showcase his abilities as a singles wrestler, earning major wins against both Matt Riddle and Otis in recent weeks.
While Kaiser may have to make do with playing the sidekick for now, Imperium’s leader GUNTHER is just weeks away from breaking the all-time record for an Intercontinental Championship reign, originally set by the Honky Tonk Man at 454 days.
Standing in GUNTHER’s way will be Chad Gable who earned a title shot on the August 7 Raw by defeating Tomasso Ciampa, Ricochet and Matt Riddle in a four-way.
