One WWE star reflected on a past booking decision, noting they still think that an alternate match finish would have resulted in unimaginable heat.
At Extreme Rules 2020, there was a mixed tag team match that was ‘winner take all’ between the real life duo of WWE Champions at the time, Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins taking on Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans.
After a fan commented on Twitter that they still think that Corbin and Evans should have won the match – specifically with Corbin pinning Becky – Corbin responded with some retroactive booking of his own.
Writing on Twitter, Corbin said:
“I forever think i should have beat Becky in the match bc both titles where up for grabs. So we would have been champs. Could you imagine the heat”
In the end, Lynch and Rollins won the match with both retaining their championships however it was not for long.
Subsequently, Brock Lesnar would cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and beat Seth Rollins to become the new WWE Universal Champion.
Corbin is currently seeing a resurgence in NXT where his latest character iteration has vowed to just be himself.
