The wrestling world is still mourning the tragic loss of Bray Wyatt, real name Windham Rotunda, who suddenly passed away at the age of 36 yesterday, August 24.
The tributes for Wyatt have been pouring in from both Windham’s former co-workers and fans alike, and one former rival of Bray’s took to the microphone tonight.
Chris Jericho was performing a Fozzy concert in London today, when he took to the mic to pay tribute to Windham Rotunda.
The crowd at the concert took the time to sing ‘He’s got the whole world in his hands’, before Jericho said the gig and All In this Sunday will be in tribute to Windham.
You can see the video of the concert below.
WWE has added the following note to the item descriptions for Wyatt merch on the WWE Shop website:
In the wake of Bray Wyatt’s death, WWE will donate all net proceeds to support JoJo Offerman and his children.
You can find said merch at this link.
Yesterday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported:
I was given permission to reveal that earlier this year Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt) got COVID that exacerbated a heart issues.
There was a lot of positive progress towards a return and his recovery. Unfortunately today he suffered a heart attack and passed away.
PWInsider reported earlier that Braun Strowman and Cody Rhodes, who of course both had close ties to Wyatt, are being brought into tonight’s SmackDown, but there’s no confirmation on whether they’ll appear on camera.
Seth Rollins confirmed he won’t be at SmackDown as he’ll be at home with his family, specifically hugging his baby girl, because that’s what Wyatt told him to do after they spoke when Brodie Lee had passed away.
WWE has not announced anything specific for SmackDown regarding Wyatt’s passing, but we’ll keep you updated.
The company has pulled Jimmy Uso’s return from being advertised on its website.
Rob Fee, who is WWE’s director of long-term creative and worked very closely with Wyatt, tweeted earlier that tonight will be really special.
Our thoughts and condolences continue to be with Windham Rotunda’s family, friends, and everyone affected by his passing.
Chris Jericho & people in attendance at the Fozzy concert tonight payed tribute to Bray Wyatt.
Chants for Bray & then they sing “He’s got the whole world in his hands.”
Beautiful. Class act.
