WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has now reacted to GUNTHER becoming the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion ever.
GUNTHER has now made history, breaking the Honky Tonk Man’s record for the longest single Intercontinental Title reign.
As of today (Thursday, September 7) the Ring General has held his gold for 454 days, surpassing the recognised 453 day record of the Honky Tonk Man.
Triple H has now taken to Twitter to comment on GUNTHER’s history-making title reign.
Congratulating the Austrian star, Triple H tweeted:
Defining his own legacy. And this is just the beginning…
Congratulations to @Gunther_AUT on making history as the longest-reigning #ICChampion EVER.
GUNTHER most recently defended his gold against Chad Gable in the main event of Monday’s (September 4) edition of Raw.
WWE has since shared this full match, which many fans have argued is a match of the year contender.
An AEW name has revealed that this match made him cry, which you can read more about right here.
