WWE held it’s latest round of talent cuts on September 21, with many names from both the WWE main roster and NXT being released from their contracts.
One of the most surprising names released was former World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler, who had been with the company for almost 20 years before his release last Thursday.
Many names who have been let go from WWE have eventually found their way back to the company in some fashion, and AEW’s Jim Ross believes the same will be the case for Ziggler one day.
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, JR said that he doesn’t believe that Ziggler will be permanently gone from the company, as there are many roles he could fulfill in the future.
He said:
“I don’t think he’s permanently going to be gone from WWE. I think once the dust settles, you start thinking about the roles he can fulfill, and there are many, not just wrestling.
“I heard someone talk about Ziggler being in line for a role much like Adam Pearce is on Raw, and if that’s the case, he’ll do a great job. Ziggler’s a star, and you don’t just cast stars to the side.”
