There was a certified banger in the main event of AEW Collision between MJF and Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship.
And no, there can be no discussion of that word not being applicable because the match was truly one to behold.
With another chapter of MJF’s world title run now in the books, he has demonstrated that he is able to meld into the style of the opponent he is facing and still emerge with the victory.
Again putting to shame any doubters regarding his versatility, MJF kept up with offense from Kenny Omega of every sort including that which sent him over the top rope and through a table.
In the end (after a slight distraction from Don Callis) MJF was still able to retain his AEW World Championship.
So no, Kenny Omega did not beat MJF for the championship as Friedman marches on to his next opponent, while several others lurk after him as well.
He faces off in an eight-man tag on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite against Bullet Club Gold, which if he wins, he is able to reclaim his AEW World Championship belt.
The title was absent from ringside for the match against Omega as it has been ‘stolen’ by MJF’s Full Gear 2023 opponent, Jay White.
Who MJF is choosing as his partners has yet to be revealed although Max Caster continues to offer the services of the Acclaimed and Billy Gunn for the task.
Seen in backstage clips after the main event as watching the match rather intently were Samoa Joe, Wardlow and even Powerhouse Hobbs.
