With Crown Jewel 2023 just days away, many are eager to witness Roman Reigns’ second Undisputed WWE Universal Championship defence since WrestleMania 39 when he takes on LA Knight.
While many are clamoring for WWE to capitalise on Knight’s unwavering popularity with a massive win, it must be said that the likelihood of that happening is admittedly slim.
With WrestleMania 40 getting closer and closer, one would imagine that WWE are saving the big moment of crowning a new champion for then.
However, that’s not to say that it isn’t possible for an ultimate shocker before then, especially with Reigns currently set to compete at least once more at the Royal Rumble in January.
So with that being said let’s take a look at seven stars who could step up to Reigns in his next title defence.
7. LA Knight
Kicking off the list we have the obvious answer of LA Knight, who as mentioned is all set to challenge Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Considering Knight’s popularity it’s not hard to imagine that WWE may decide that his feud with Reigns deserves more than just a one and done.
This is especially true if the Megastar ends up losing his first WWE title match in controversial circumstances, which is of course highly likely given Reigns’ track record.
So, after Reigns picks up a sketchy win over Knight courtesy of outside interference, what’s to say that Knight claws his way back to a second opportunity, this time with a stipulation.
Regardless what that would be Knight would be a solid choice for this spot once again, only fear would be the damage two straight losses would do to the Megastar’s momentum.
