Nick Aldis believes this WWE Hall of Famer deserves more credit for being “cool.”
During the Attitude Era, there was probably no group more popular or controversial than D-Generation X. While many fans view Triple H and Shawn Michaels as all-time greats and the New Age Outlaws as one of the best tag teams of the era, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman doesn’t get nearly the credit he should.
Appearing on WWE’s After The Bell with Corey Graves, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis admitted that he had more interest in X-Pac than any other DX member. He said:
“You know who in my school who was considered the coolest wrestler? X-Pac,”
“Everybody thought X-Pac was so cool, and if you think about it, he was because of the way he talks and his demeanor and everything.”
“I never think that Sean Waltman really gets his flowers as far as how much of an impact he had on wrestling being cool.”
Bringing up another WWE Hall of Famer who he thinks deserves more credit for being cool, Aldis said:
“I thought of Bret Hart like he’s cool, and girls like him, and he’s so slick, and he’s the best, and I want to be like that. He was cool,”
“I remember sort of seeing Hogan and understanding that he was a huge star — and I don’t mean this as a slight — but he didn’t seem cool to me. Bret was cool.”
On the October 13 episode of SmackDown, Triple H named former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis as the new SmackDown General Manager.
