The latest update has emerged on WWE potentially splitting up the Imperium faction after several months of teasing tensions within the group.
Imperium is of course made up of Ludwig Kaiser, Giovanni Vinci, and the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion ever, Gunther.
For months now, it seemed like Vinci was being portrayed as the very clear weak link of the group, with Gunther treating him as such.
However, that might have changed on last night’s November 13 episode of Raw.
Ludwig Kaiser had a singles match against Tommaso Ciampa, which Kaiser won after interference from Vinci.
Backstage, Imperium seemed in good spirits about their win, receiving praise from Gunther, and Kaiser being especially boastful about winning.
However, things took a turn when Gunther told Kaiser he’s not the one he was praising, but he was actually praising Vinci.
Gunther mentioned Vinci’s “great thinking” during the match to help Kaiser before walking off, followed shortly after by Vinci who laughed at Kaiser, and it now looks like Kaiser is the odd one out.
Kaiser was left on his own, before being confronted by Jinder Mahal, Sanga and Veer of Indus-Sher, who were back on TV for the first time in weeks.
Nothing really came of that particular confrontation. We’ll keep you posted with any new developments or updates on the plans for Imperium going forward.
Gunther defends the Intercontinental Championship against The Miz at Survivor Series on November 25.
