UPDATE: CM Punk did in fact make his return to WWE at tonight’s WWE Survivor Series 2023. You can click here to read all about it.
World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes have reacted to fans chanting for CM Punk ahead of WWE Survivor Series.
Last night’s November 24 episode of SmackDown took place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, the same venue as tonight’s Survivor Series.
Although they didn’t appear on TV, Rollins and Rhodes were at the show for a post-SmackDown dark match where they teamed up against Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh.
Predictably, there were some CM Punk chants during SmackDown, although nothing too major that took over the show, but things seemingly got a bit louder after the Rollins and Rhodes match.
With both men in the ring, a couple of videos have circulated showing their reactions.
One angle showed Rollins with a somewhat amusing smirk on his face, and Rhodes could also be heard saying:
“Well… we’re kind of at a loss what to do here.”
As of the latest update, CM Punk wasn’t expected to be at WWE Survivor Series, but it’s also not something that’s been ruled out as impossible.
We will of course keep you posted with any updates throughout the day.
