A new role for a WWE star has seemingly been revealed as they certainly appear to be functioning as a powerful liaison backstage on NXT TV.
On tonight’s December 5 episode of WWE NXT, Ava featured across the night in a role that seemed similar to General Manager.
Ava, real name Simone Johnson, is of course the real-life daughter of The Rock and has largely been absent from TV since the Schism faction disbanded, but she’s reappeared over the past couple of weeks.
On tonight’s show, after breaking up an altercation in the women’s locker room, Ava said she was going to Shawn Michaels to broker a match.
Later announcing the match herself directly to the camera, Ava revealed that at NXT Deadline there would be a steel cage match pitting Kiana James against Roxanne Perez.
After NXT Anonymous planted further seeds of doubt in the mind of Trick Williams regarding Carmelo Hayes and his potential alliance with Lexis King, Melo pledged to Trick that he would “talk to Ava,” to work something out.
Later, Melo revealed to Trick that Ava had secured him a match at NXT Deadline against Lexis King.
Unrelatedly to Ava, Tyler Bate joined the field of the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge as the ‘last chance’ entrant after winning the fatal four way match against Carmelo Hayes, Eddy Thorpe and Joe Coffey.
Earlier in the night, Fallon Henley won the ‘last chance’ four-way from the women’s division.
