A top AEW star has announced their final match in the independent wrestling circuit ahead of the start of their new contract.
Back at AEW Full Gear, the latest major AEW signing was announced, when former IWGP World Champion Will Ospreay was announced as having signed with the company, set to start in February.
Ospreay’s contract with NJPW expires in February, with him being given permission from NJPW to speak to other companies, which led to him ultimately joining AEW.
Ospreay has numerous dates scheduled in NJPW and the independents ahead of his AEW debut, including a three-way to crown the inaugural IWGP Global Champion at Wrestle Kingdom 18 with Jon Moxley and David Finlay.
Today, Ospreay took to Twitter to announce his final match on the independent circuit before he signs full-time with AEW.
The match will pit Ospreay against Michael Oku for the RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship at the RevPro High Stakes event on February 18.
A recently released WWE star announced his upcoming UK independents debut following his free agency, which you can see here.
