Backstage details have emerged on a recent change which a WWE name noted was not their call.
Chelsea Green and Piper Niven notably dropped the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on Monday’s (December 18) edition of Raw, with Katana Chance & Kayden Carter winning the gold.
Many fans took to social media to point out that ahead of the match, Chelsea Green was given a more conventional introduction by Samantha Irvin, rather than her unique-sounding intro.
Samantha Irvin previously took to Twitter to note that this change wasn’t her call, and indicating that she’d be open to the idea of the previous intro returning.
Per Fightful Select, the direction to scrap Chelsea Green’s special introduction came directly from a WWE higher up.
It was also reported that many were pushing for it to return.
Green originally won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Sonya Deville in July.
With Deville out of action due to a torn ACL, she was replaced by Piper Niven in August.
Green and Niven recently broke their silence on their title loss which you can read more about right here.
