A WWE star has revealed that they wanted to step into a ring with multi-platinum selling musical artist Cardi B, even naming a particular creative angle that the rapper could have featured in.
Over the years Cardi B’s name has arose in discussions surrounding potential celebrity crossovers into pro wrestling, with the 31-year-old making known on many occasions that she is a fan.
Earlier this year Cardi would even hint at a potential appearance at WrestleMania 40, with fans speculating who could potentially stand across the ring from her.
One such name that through herself into the conversation was Chelsea Green, who looked to goad Cardi into an appearance on WWE TV via social media.
In a recent interview with Spencer Love for Love Wrestling, Green was asked about the chances of her either wrestling against or with Cardi in the future.
To which she revealed that it was something she had hoped would have happened already, specifically during her time running the Chelesea’s Got Talent social media campaign earlier this year.
Green explained:
“I love that question, because you know me, as usual, it’s see where things go.
“It’s just like fly by the seat of my pants. However, I’m being honest? I wanted Cardi B!
“If I couldn’t get Cardi B, I wanted to wrestle Cardi B! There (were) just so many good options in Chelsea’s Got
Talent.“
The end goal of the campaign was to find a tag team partner, of which she eventually landed Piper Niven.
While Niven and Green were an odd couple at first, they went on to have an over 100 day reign as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, only recently losing the titles to Kayden Carter and Katana Chance on the December 18 edition of Raw.
