Popular WWE star and former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes says Booker T and his fellow black wrestlers have been huge advocates.
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has not only served as the color commentator for NXT, but he is a mentor for many stars on the developmental roster given his history in the business.
One of the stars that Booker has mentored during his time in NXT is former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes.
Speaking to Armon Sadler of VIBE, Hayes discussed having the support of Booker T and his fellow black wrestlers. He said:
“I feel like every Black wrestler that I’ve met has just shown so much love. Like Booker T, even Big E, just from top to bottom. It’s just like an unspoken camaraderie in a lot of ways.”
“Booker for example, he wants the best for all talent, but Black talent as well. Booker T’s has been a huge advocate for helping with my progress,”
Carmelo Hayes is coming off a couple of bouts on main roster, recently losing to Kevin Owens in the United States Tournament on the December 22 edition of WWE SmackDown.
Indiana Pacers all star guard Tyrese Haliburton had a meeting with Booker T and Queen Sharmell, which you can read here.
