A released WWE star has addressed his departure from the company; in an attempt to counter prevailing theories online.
Fresh off an appearance at TNA’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view on January 13, former Hit Row member AJ Francis (fka Top Dolla) is basking in what seems to be a wealth of opportunity outside of WWE’s walls.
Posting his January booking schedule to Twitter, Francis compared his current opportunities to what he had in WWE; seeming more fulfilled now than when he was employed by the company.
Francis tweeted:
I’m more booked now than I was at that 3 Letter Company in the sky…
I’m doing more promos and making more noise now too… my name is everywhere
It’s almost like… I wasn’t the problem.
As Francis alludes to in his post, reports regarding past backstage heat during Francis’ time in WWE had led to many fans online jumping to conclusions and pointing blame to him regarding his September 2023 release.
However, despite these rumors persisting online, it seems as if the former NFL star is having little trouble finding work as a free agent.
As seen in Francis’ post, he is seemingly set to continue working with TNA; with further appearances set for the company’s January 19 and 20 tapings in Orlando.
Not only that, but Francis will follow up his surprise return to GCW in December with an appearance at the promotion’s Look at Me event on January 26; a show that will also feature fellow WWE alum Mansoor.
Francis is not the only former WWE name seemingly set for a future in TNA, as another released star was announced to have officially signed with the company.
