Cody Rhodes has heaped praise on a recently released WWE star following their continued success following their release.
The most recent round of WWE releases took place back on September 21, when multiple names from both the main roster and NXT were released from their contracts.
One of those names was Mustafa Ali, who had been performing on the NXT brand prior to his release, and was set for an NXT North American Championship match against Dominik Mysterio at NXT No Mercy, which was cancelled.
Ali has arguably been the most successful of the names released from the company, already making major waves on the independent scene, selling out multiple events he’s been advertised for, as well as upcoming appearances for both NJPW and TNA.
Ali reflected on his incredible month, saying:
in one month: every single show consecutively sold out, record breaking attendance for promotions, strategic alliances with TNA and NJPW, and most importantly, giving you a reason to believe that IN ALI WE TRUST.
Ali received a response from Cody Rhodes, who obviously knows a thing or two about making waves after being released by WWE.
Cody heaped praise on Ali’s success, saying:
So happy for you. Move your own goal posts further and further back – they’ll doubt you, but leave em’ the receipts!
Ali shared his own response to Cody, telling him to go finish his story.
He responded:
get to write my story. you make sure you finish yours!
Cody Rhodes was victorious in the 2024 Royal Rumble match, seemingly setting up a rematch with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
🙏🏽
get to write my story. you make sure you finish yours!
