Former WWE star Matt Cardona has called out wrestling legend Mick Foley, following Foley recently noting that he’s thinking about returning to the ring.
Foley recently stated on his Foley is Pod podcast that he’s considering coming out of retirement for one final match for his 60th birthday.
The Hall of Famer noted that this return/retirement bout would be a deathmatch that would take place away from WWE.
Foley named Jon Moxley and Matt Cardona as potential opponents for this bout, noting that Cardona specifically has heat in the deathmatch world.
Cardona has taken to Instagram to share a photo of himself in a “F**k Mick Foley” jacket.
Issuing a challenge, Cardona captioned his post:
If @realmickfoley is really having one last match…and it’s a deathmatch…there is only person who should be his opponent…
ME! THE DEATHMATCH KING!
Foley replied to Cardona’s post with a comment, writing:
Be careful what you wish for…. @themattcardona
Cardona most recently wrestled at Saturday’s (February 3) GCW The Coldest Winter 2 show, losing to Nic Nemeth (fka Dolph Ziggler) in singles action.
The former WWE star fired shots at The Rock during this show, which you can read more about right here.
