WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam has compared the backstage environments of WWE and AEW.
RVD returned to AEW on the January 31 edition of Dynamite for a hardcore match against Swerve Strickland.
Speaking on his 1 Of A Kind podcast, Rob Van Dam noted that he actually prefers being at AEW shows rather than WWE tapings.
Explaining why, Van Dam said:
“I get a lot of respect there, obviously. I’m more comfortable there than I am at WWE. It feels less grandioso; it has a very important indie vibe that’s cranked up to like, ‘Boom, it’s TV day.’
“It’s not the same as the pressure – at least it doesn’t seem like it – around WWE. By that I mean like the agenda or what your job is to do throughout the entire day. It seems less complicated.”
While Van Dam believes that there’s a lot more pressure at WWE shows, The Undertaker recently shared his honest thoughts on Triple H’s regime, noting things are a lot calmer at WWE events nowadays.
Rob Van Dam recently commented on the reaction to his recent AEW appearance, which you can read more about right here.
