Current AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy has made a shocking appearance on an independent show this weekend.
When the AEW International Championship was introduced in 2022, the title was billed as being able to be defended outside All Elite Wrestling and in different countries outside the U.S. However, the title was exclusively defended in AEW following the inaugural reign of PAC.
On February 18, AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy made a surprise appearance at the RevPro High Stakes 2024 event to defend his title in a 7-way match. RevPro wrote the following caption about the surprise:
Wait a minute! We thought Shigehiro Irie was the 6th man, but we now have a 7-way as @AEW‘s @orangecassidy is here – and it’s for his International Championship!
#HighStakes2024
Cassidy retweeted the clip and wrote the following caption:
Whenever, wherever. (My version)
Orange Cassidy went on to successfully retain his title during the bout.
His next title defense will take place on March 3 at AEW Revolution when Cassidy faces Roderick Strong of the Undisputed Kingdom.
