A recently released WWE star has reacted to an upcoming match against a former world champion following their free agency.
The latest batch of WWE releases took place on September 21, 2o23, when numerous names from the main roster and NXT were released from their contracts.
One of the names released was Shelton Benjamin, who returned to the company back in 2016.
Benjamin had been teaming with Cedric Alexander prior to his release, and he has now found himself taking bookings following his free agency.
Benjamin was recently announced for a first time ever match with former TNA World Champion Josh Alexander at Prestige Wrestling’s Alive or Breathing show on May 16.
Taking to Twitter to hype up the match, Shelton commented on the upcoming bout, simply saying:
This should be very interesting.
Shelton, as well as the rest of the main roster WWE stars released, became a free agent on December 30 following the expiration of their non-compete clauses.
Another released WWE name Elias, now going by Elijah, recently returned to the ring for Wrestling Revolver against Mike Bailey.
Josh Alexander recently had his contract extended by TNA after it was set to expire earlier this month.
This should be very interesting. https://t.co/wh8Jy0j1um
