The imminent return of an injured WWE star after eleven months out of action has been confirmed following speculation.
On last week’s episode of NXT, former AEW star Shawn Spears made his return to WWE, being revealed as the man behind the recent cryptic vignettes, and attacking Ridge Holland with a steel chair.
Later in the show, another vignette aired, this one showing a birds eye view of a beach with the words ‘see you soon’ written in the sand, before the NXT Roadblock logo appeared on screen.
Many had speculated that the video was for Sol Ruca, who recently returned from a torn ACL at an NXT live event, and has not appeared on television in eleven months.
In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), the vignette was indeed for the return of Sol Ruca, who is set to return to WWE television on tonight’s Roadblock special episode of NXT.
Tonight’s show will also see Shawn Spears compete in his first WWE match in five years following his return last week.
Elsewhere, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship will be defended on the show, with the Kabuki Warriors defending against NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria and Tatum Paxley.
