An update has been provided on former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega’s potential return following Kazuchika Okada’s debut.
On the March 6 episode of AEW Dynamite, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson of The Young Bucks announced that former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega had been fired from The Elite.
After being interrupted by Eddie Kingston, Kazuchika Okada made his debut for the company and looked to make the save for Kingston until he delivered the Rainmaker to the AEW Continental Crown Champion.
The Young Bucks then announced that Okada is now the newest member of The Elite, confirming his heel turn.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update on Kenny Omega, noting that there is no timetable on Omega’s potential return despite the tease on Dynamite.
The AEW Dynamite angle was to debut Okada, add to The Elite, and set the stage in the event of Omega’s return down the line.
Omega has been out of action since December 2023 following a battle of diverticulitis nearly took his life.
Kazuchika Okada’s AEW contract details following his debut with the company has been revealed, which you can read at this link.
