There has been an update on the ‘disappointing’ viewership for this week’s AEW Big Business show featuring Mercedes Mone’s debut.
Mercedes’ debut had been hinted at for the show for several weeks before she ultimately arrived to kick off the show in Boston, as well as reappearing to close the night by saving Willow Nightingale from an attack by Skye Blue and Julia Hart.
The show was initially reported by Wrestlenomics as drawing 801,000 total viewers, which was considered a disappointment for many given the hype heading into the show.
However, in an update from Wrestlenomics, the show actually averaged 798,000 viewers with the show’s overrun quarter factored into the final number, which it was not for the 801,000 number.
The 18-49 demographic rating for the show remains unchanged, however.
The show also featured an AEW World Championship match between Samoa Joe and Wardlow, as well as Kazuchika Okada teaming with the Young Bucks against Eddie Kingston, PAC and Penta El Zero Miedo.
Next week’s show is set to see Okada challenge Kingston for the AEW Continental Championship.
After including the 6-minute overrun, the whole show average total viewership is 798,000 instead of 801,000. The P18-49 viewership average is unchanged: 355,000 (0.27 P18-49 rating).
The report has been updated.
