AEW star Swerve Strickland has addressed rumors about WWE star’s Drew McIntyre’s next move, noting that McIntyre would be a great fit for AEW.
There has been a lot of speculation about Drew McIntyre’s status, with his current contract due to expire in April after WrestleMania.
Speaking with Bootleg Kev, Swerve Strickland noted that while he believes McIntyre can work anywhere in the world, he’d love to see McIntyre in AEW.
Strickland said:
“I would love to see a Drew McIntyre over here. His contract status, I don’t know, I can’t speak on it, but I heard it’s not fully….
“I think Drew McIntyre can work anywhere in the world. He’s proven that before. That’s why WWE wanted him back so badly to the transformation he made because he can work anywhere and do anything with anybody. He would be a major fit in AEW.”
Despite nothing being reported as official, recent indications are that the belief is that he will ultimately stay with the company.
McIntyre recently commented on speculation surrounding his WWE status, which you can read more about right here.
