WWE has just made the big announcement of a brand new championship being introduced during WrestleMania 40 weekend.
The revelation was made during NXT Stand & Deliver, hours before WrestleMania 40 night one tonight.
General Manager Ava (The Rock’s real-life daughter) appeared backstage to introduce a new secondary women’s title for the brand.
She stated that coming up soon, the first ever NXT Women’s North American Champion will be crowned.
Former STARDOM star Giulia, who is joining WWE NXT after she finishes her time in Japan, was also shown in the crowd during the show.
We’ll keep you posted with any further backstage news on the new championship if any new details come to light.
Of the two major companies. NXT is the show that features the most women’s wrestling, so the introduction of a secondary title does make sense when it comes to that.
