There was not one but two huge title changes to kick off Sunday’s WWE WrestleMania 40 night two in Philadelphia.
With CM Punk on commentary taunting both Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre in the World Heavyweight Championship opener, in the end he would prove to be integral to the story.
With a thunderous Claymore after Rollins had already kicked out of several, Drew McIntyre was able to pin Seth Rollins to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 40.
For the third time in his career, Drew McIntyre was a WWE World Champion.
With Seth Rollins appearing tearful before walking away from the ring, he pointed at McIntyre and seemingly mouthed, ‘You deserve it man’.
After the match, CM Punk was not necessarily complimentary of Drew’s efforts but there would be a conflict sooner rather than later.
Drew McIntyre went to CM Punk and showed him the new title and they had a back and forth, but it was mostly inaudible.
However, when McIntyre took it a step too far, Punk pulled Drew’s leg, knocking him down on the commentary table and then took off his arm brace, whipping him with it.
Straight away, Damian Priest ran out to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and became the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
He would go on to celebrate alongside Judgment Day on the entrance ramp as McIntyre was left stunned in the ring, with CM Punk smiling on.
