There was a title change on WWE NXT tonight (April 9) although the celebration would prove to be short lived for the new champs.
In the last match of tonight’s NXT, Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker put their NXT Tag Team Championship on the line.
They defended against Nathan Frazer and Axiom, who if they lost, would never be able to challenge for the NXT tag titles again.
After a Stand & Deliver rematch between the two teams, it would end up being Nathan Frazer and Axiom who picked up the win, capturing a pinfall victory on Baron Corbin.
Nathan Frazer and Axiom were declared the new WWE NXT Tag Team Champions.
However the celebration would be very short as, rather quickly, the Final Testament’s music began playing.
Led by Karrion Kross, Scarlett and Paul Ellering, the Authors of Pain Akam and Rezar spared no time in attacking the new champs.
By the end of the segment, Nathan Frazer and Axiom were laid out and Akam and Rezar had snatched the belts and were holding the NXT Tag Team titles over their heads.
The Authors of Pain are former NXT Tag Team Champions, holding the titles way back in 2017.
