WWE Crown Jewel takes place on November 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but some top stars won’t be making the journey.
Matches for WWE Crown Jewel are still to be announced, although it’s expected that the men’s and women’s Crown Jewel Championship matches will take place.
While the makeup of those matches will largely depend on who holds the titles as Money in the Bank approaches, there’s a likelihood that a number of top stars won’t be on the WWE PLE:
London Calling
For two WWE stars in particular, London is calling as Finn Balor and Bayley have been confirmed for appearances at Zuffa Boxing 12 on November 7.
The announcement was made by the WWE UK Twitter account, which confirmed that both stars would be in attendance at Zuffa 12 takes place at Copper Box Arena in London, England.
Bayley was last in action on the September 21 episode of WWE Raw, losing to Lyra Valkyria as the pair continue a bitter feud.
Balor failed to qualify for the men’s Money in the Bank match, with CM Punk being victorious in the Triple Threat on September 25 which also featured GUNTHER.
WWE Crown Jewel is still going ahead, then?
Despite reports of internal ‘concern‘ and a travel advisory issued by US authorities, it appears that Crown Jewel is still taking place in Riyadh, with a prevailing belief that it will be going ahead in Saudi Arabia unless someone with much more authority tells WWE otherwise.
The official event page for WWE Crown Jewel is still active with November 7 at Riyadh Season Stadium listed as the date and venue. The page also features a graphic showing Penta, Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk, as opposed to any of the current champions that may feature in the Crown Jewel Championship matches.
For those interested in tickets, the WeBook page for the event is also still live, with tickets starting at $21.33 for “GA2”, up to $93.33 for “Platinum” tickets.
When it comes to events taking place during Riyadh Season, Soundstorm 26 has been postponed, although no reason was revealed in the report issued by Gulf News. Soundstorm was set to take place on December 3 & 4, with IQ Magazine noting it was one of a number of music events to be cancelled or postponed.
Riyadh Season runs from October this year, with WrestleMania 43 in 2027 also being part of the annual series of sports, entertainment and cultural events. Each year, Riyadh Season draws millions of visitors to the region.
At the time of writing, no date has been set for WrestleMania 43, although one is highly likely to be announced at Crown Jewel or around that time.
