Tony Schiavione has shared an update on Steven Borden’s condition after his serious injury scare at AEW All Out 2026.
The second match on the AEW All Out 2026 card saw Steven Borden – the son of multiple-time Hall of Famer Sting – make his pay-per-view debut, teaming with Darby Allin against The Don Callis Family’s Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight.
Unfortunately after over 10 minutes of in-ring action, Borden suffered what appeared to be a potentially serious head injury after he and Knight collided mid-air when attempting a synchronised diving clothesline from either side of the ring.
Borden appeared to hit his head badly when landing after the spot, which quickly caught the attention of referee Bryce Remsburg, who then called in the ringside doctor Michael Sampson. The match was stopped soon after, with Fletcher and Knight being declared the winners and Borden being taken to hospital.
While the incident had everyone worried, positive updates emerged throughout the show and Tony Khan stated during the AEW All Out press conference that all of Borden’s tests came back good.
Now, days removed from All Out, AEW commentator Tony Schiavone – who was at ringside calling Borden’s match at All Out – shared another positive update on his condition.
Speaking on his What Happened When podcast, Schiavone said:
“I talked to Steven just yesterday on the phone and he was fine. He had no headaches, he had no dizziness. As far as a diagnosis is concerned that has to come from our doctor because I’m not – I can’t make that, but I can tell you by talking to him, he said ‘I’m fine.’
“He did tell me ‘Of all the years that I played football for the University of Kentucky’ he said ‘I never had a concussion, I never experienced anything like that’, and he was more upset that he thought he ruined the pay-per-view by what happened.
“I said ‘No you didn’t because we announced it, and then we announced it again to the crowd so everybody was very happy that you were ok, so that really lifted everyone’s spirits.’
“How long is he gonna be out? I don’t know, I’m sure they’ll have to check on him before he can get back in there.”

Borden’s first PPV match comes less than a year after he made his in-ring debut for Awesome Championship Wrestling on October 3, 2025.
The second-generation star had been working dark matches in AEW from December 2025 through until August of this year, before wrestling for the first time on TV at AEW Dynamite: Rebel Heart on September 9.
