WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has paid tribute to Ben Satterley, better known to wrestling fans as PAC and Adrian Neville.
AEW announced Satterley’s passing on September 27, just one day after his match against Andrade El Idolo at All Out.
Numerous stars have shared tribute posts to Satterley, with Triple H being the latest name to pen a message about the wrestler formerly known as “Neville” in WWE.
Sharing a photo to social media of him with Neville following the star’s NXT Championship win, Triple H wrote:
“Saddened to hear about the death of Ben Satterley known in WWE as Neville. I had the pleasure of working with Ben in the early days of NXT.
This moment, from NXT Arrival, marked the beginning of a new era for that brand and the men and women on it … and Ben was a major force behind that.
“He was an extraordinary talent and even kinder human being. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans across the world.”
Paul Heyman also posted about Satterly’s passing, taking to Twitter to write:
Oh no.
No no no no no no no.
What a tremendous talent and even finer human being. My most profound condolences to all who knew him. A truly terrible loss!
Other WWE stars who shared tributes for Satterley include Kevin Owens, The Miz, Danhausen and Becky Lynch.
Satterley is considered one of the pioneers of NXT as an in-ring developmental brand, being the fourth-ever NXT Champion.
As referenced by Triple H, Satterly won the NXT Championship from Bo Dallas in a ladder match at NXT Arrival in February 2014, the first WWE event to ever be livestreamed on the WWE Network.
Satterly held this title for 286 days before dropping the gold to Sami Zayn at NXT TakeOver: R-Evolution.
He joined the main roster in early 2015 and went onto have many iconic moments, including one of the most talked-about nearfalls of all time during his World Heavyweight Championship match against Seth Rollins on the August 3, 2015 edition of Raw.
In addition to the NXT Title, Satterly also held the NXT Tag Team Championship twice, won the Slammy Award for Breakout Star of the Year in 2015, and went on to have two reigns with the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
Satterly officially left WWE in August 2018, and wrestled all over the world, including for Dragon Gate, ahead of being revealed to be one of the first AEW signings in January 2019.
He had a decorated career in AEW, being the inaugural All-Atlantic Champion, while also having two reigns with the AEW Trios Championship.
