Find out what happened at the ‘Trial of the Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns on tonight’s July 7 edition of WWE SmackDown.
After an initial segment featuring Paul Heyman, Solo Sikoa and the Usos, the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns finally made his big entrance.
With even the crowd getting in on the trial, chanting at Roman that he got pinned, the conversation was clearly deeper than just titles and matches as emotional scenes ensued.
In an incredibly emotional scene, the master manipulator Roman Reigns proved to be not humbling himself at all, rather kicking off another ferocious attack.
Reigns made an apparent gesture towards Jey Uso, kneeling before him as though he was granting him the title of ‘Tribal Chief’ along with the ceremonial necklace (the Ula Fala if you want to get technical!) before instead delivering a low blow.
It was then that Solo Sikoa struck, attacking both Jimmy and Jey Uso, doubling down when the duo battled back after a moment of hesitation from Sikoa.
Abruptly adjourning the Tribal Court, Roman and Solo proceeded to stay united in their joint effort to take out the Usos with a continued assault on the pair.
A beatdown on the outside of the ring continued that included Jey being stuck between the ring ropes with Roman yelling at him that as long as there was oxygen in his lungs, Uso would never be the Tribal Chief.
The segment would end with Jey and Jimmy both down at ringside while Paul Heyman pledged his allegiance and love to the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.
As the continued, after the commercial break, Jimmy Uso was seen being taken away from Madison Square Garden via ambulance after the vicious attack.
It’s believed the plan for SummerSlam is Reigns vs Jey Uso, and while not confirmed, things certainly seem to be headed in that direction based on tonight.
UPDATE: That looks to be cemented after the final segment on SmackDown, as Jey returned to the arena and challenged Reigns to a one-on-one match.
