This one is a record that WWE clearly wanted someone else to have, and so Brock Lesnar is the longest reigning WWE Champion, not CM Punk.
Difference is, Punk actually defended his title during his 434-day reign, several times. Brock’s 504-day reign has a lot to answer for in that respect.
Also, Punk wasn’t a giant human, and therefore to hold onto the belt with competition from the likes of Orton, Cena and others hanging around is far more impressive.
Despite all their differences with him, at least they recognised him for the talent he had.
Of course, this was until the Rock showed up, and Punk dropped the belt at Royal Rumble 2013.
