8. Cody Rhodes vs. Malakai Black II
Cody Rhodes’ first match with Malakai Black was very effective and engaging. Malakai kills him in five minutes, 1-2-3 simple and effective. The rematch however? A bit less simple.
We get the return of Brandi Rhodes who delivers a wonderful new gif to save to react to things on Twitter, but Arn Anderson also falls off the apron while setting up his spot and the match just feels considerably more complicated that it needed to be.
The action is as good as always but the follow up to such a unique and decisive first match was likely going to struggle to capture that same magic but Codyverse matches often did use a lot more Smoke and Mirrors than other matches on the AEW card.
