Former WWE Star Wins Championship In TNA Wrestling (Spoiler) WWE/TNA Wrestling

Former WWE star and Hit Row member Top Dolla, now known as AJ Francis, has won his first championship in TNA Wrestling.

At the TNA tapings that took place over the weekend in Newport, Kentucky, Francis faced Laredo Kid for the Digital Media Championship.

As noted by Fightful, Francis was victorious in the match, becoming the new TNA Digital Media Champion.

Not only would this mark Francis’ first championship in a televised company, but he would also be the tenth wrestler to hold the belt.

Laredo Kid had held the championship since TNA Rebellion on April 20, 2024, where he beat Crazzy Steve.

Francis made his TNA debut at Hard To Kill on January 13, 2024.

He signed with WWE in January 2020 and would make his NXT debut in May 2021 forming Hit Row shortly thereafter.

The stable would be released in November 2021 as WWE dealt with COVID-19 related business issues.

As Top Dolla, he would return to WWE in August 2022 alongside Ashante “Thee” Adonis and B-Fab.

Swerve Strickland, who worked for WWE as Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and was part of Hit Row, signed with AEW in March 2022.

Francis would be released, once again, by WWE in September 2023.

The TNA Digital Media Championship was introduced in 2021 under the Impact Wrestling banner and would see Jordynne Grace as inaugural champion.

Since then, it has been held by Matt Cardona, Rich Swann, Brian Myers, Joe Hendry, Kenny King and Tommy Dreamer under Impact Wrestling.

With the move to TNA Wrestling, the title has been held by Crazzy Steve and Laredo Kid.
