10 Wrestling Stars Who Used To Be Jobbers

6. Rob Van Dam

While we might have to stretch the term of a jobber for this one slightly, Rob Van Dam appeared first in a skit involving ‘The Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase when he was only 16 years old.

Van Dam was picked to be a plant (member of the audience pre-chosen to be involved) during a WWF television show in 1987 where Ted DiBiase picked him out of the crowd and offered him $100 to kiss his foot. Van Dam accepted and returned to his seat $100 richer while the crowd booed the egotistical DiBiase.

Years later Van Dam would wrestle for WCW as Robbie V where he mostly lost his matches. He lost to Vinnie Vegas (Kevin Nash) and a number other enhancement talent before leaving the company in 1993.

Rob Van Dam would become a legend in ECW as the longest reigning ECW TV Champion ever, holding the title for nearly two years and only relinquishing it because of injury. Van Dam would later become extremely popular in the WWE and even became WWE Champion, defeating John Cena at One Night Stand in 2006.
